I joined a photo session at SHARE -support for breast and ovarian cancer- yesterday. I only had one hour to be there and I had fun of getting some photo shooting done with other survivors and SHARE stuff members. These photos will be used for their publications. Look out!
Well, no make-up touch-up. I had a class in the morning and rushed to the office, a nice 30 minutes walk under a gorgeous weather in New York City. I hope I was not too messy.
I have met some other survivors. One of them was a breast cancer blogger Chiara D’Agostino, who run Beauty Through the Beast blog. I felt such a wonderful energy from her! I am excited to get to know her. She told me she knew my blog and when she started, my blog actually inspired her. I am so happy to receive such feedback (any feedback makes me happy, so leave me some :-)! ) Check out her blog for positive inspiration!
Chiara told me that she finished her chemotherapy 3 months after me (I believe my calculation is right). Look at her beautiful LONG hair!!! I could not stand my uneven wavy bombed hair and kept cutting. I will one day ask her about after-chemo hair grow as a blog topic!
SHAREと言う アメリカの乳癌と卵巣癌のサポートグループがあって、冊子用に写真撮影に行ってきた。（昨日） SHAREはアメリカでの日本語運営もあり！
授業の合間に1時間だけ！と言って、出かけて行ったので、ちょっとあわただしかったかな。午前中に授業をして、お昼時間を使って SHAREオフィースまで30分歩いて行った上、鏡も見ずに即撮影で、メイクとか髪の毛は大丈夫だったのかな？おっと、ここ最近時間に追われていて、爪がぼろぼろだった。。。などと思いながら。
撮影現場で、チアラさんという Beauty Through the Beast というブログを運営している女性に出会う。とっても素敵な女性で、ポジティブなエネルギーいっぱいの人。なんと、次の日、乳房再建手術を控えているとのこと。「シリコン再建の手術は、全摘出するときほど、きつくないわよ」と私が伝えると、「そういう感想が聞けるのは、よかったわ！」と言ってくれる（そりゃあ あまり普通聞かないよね、そんなアドバイス）。二人で、全摘出後のチューブはきついよね～ と、「がん友」会話で盛り上がる(笑）。一緒に撮影もして、うれしかった。
「私のブログをやっているんです」と言って 名刺を差し出すと、（チアラさん）「きゃー、このブログ知ってるも何も、自分が始めるときにこういうブログが良いなと参考にしたブログ！」って 言ってくれた。そんなフィードバックはとてもうれしい。（実は、どんなフィードバックもうれしいので、リアクション頂戴！（催促 笑））。とても ポジティブなブログで （英語の勉強に？も）乳癌後の ポジティブなイメージにおすすめです。
チアラさんは、私より三か月ほど後に 抗がん剤を終わらせたようですが、見てください このフサフサな長い髪の毛！羨ましい限り。私は耐えられなくて、切りまくってきたからな、これまた仕方がない。。。今度会ったときは、抗がん剤後の髪の毛のことについて、もう少し詳しく話したいな。

たしかにこの人の髪の毛、すごい普通。つい最近まで抗がん剤治療していたとはおもえないね。

髪の毛も、人それぞれなのかなぁ なんて 思いました。
でも、チアラさんの 過去の写真を見ると、こんなに くるくる してないんだよ。だから たぶん、抗がん剤の影響だけど、でも、きれいなくるくるだな。と。
ブログは ぼちぼち アップデートしますっ。

Yoko, such a pleasure to have met you yesterday!! You are the first blog I found when I googled “breast cancer fashion” and a year and a half later, we are sitting next to each other at the SHARE photo shoot! It was so nice to meet you, and I hope we can collaborate somehow! You look amazing by the way 🙂

I am so impressed with your activities despite the surgery you were expecting on the next day. Not only that, you immediately started to post your after-surgery activities on the SNs. I am glad to meet you, we will do something together!!! Yoko
